TRATTORIA DA CARMELO

The narrative for this restaurant is a 1960’s film club. The foreroom draws influence from the wa- tering holes of Milan and has walls chocker block with posters and italian movie paraphenalia. The journey continues through the tunnel of love, a passageway filled with wine bottles crowding the walls. The restaurant has two dining styles, one set along the backdrop of an open kitchen and the other in the dramatic kitch vaulted space in the rear, allowing many different dining experiences for every type of guest.

I was responsible for leading a team of three on this project and was envolved in every stage from initial site fesability drawings through to supervision of the build on site. This project had a lot of unforseen challenges on site, including asbestos, budget cuts and a tight project delivery program resulting in this being the project I am most proud of.
