The Sixteenth was an ambitious undertaking for Pirata. It covers 16,000+ sq. ft. in the business-cen- tric Quarry Bay area of Hong Kong. I was tasked with determining what to do with the space, and opted to divide the site in to four distinct concepts. These include: TMK Funk & Rolls - a 70s in- spired temakeria, La Favorita - a flamboyant trattoria, Honjokko - a high end sushi club, and finally Tempo Tempo - a kitsch outdoor bar and terrace. Ultimately we were able to include over 400 covers at The Sixteenth, and make a major splash on the Hong Kong dining scene.
This project was the first of a broader partnership with the property multinational Swire. They were thrilled with the outcome, and have green lighted several future projects off the back of this. I ini- tially led the pitch to Swire, and worked with them closely throughout. We were ultimately able to deliver the project from concept to completion in under 90 days.
