CIRCOLO POPULARE

07 / 2019

for Big Mamma Group London

Circolo Popolare had to follow in the footsteps of the Big Mamma Groups wildly successful first London restaurant, Gloria. It is a 280-cover Sicilian-inspired trattoria with bottles of spirits covering every wall and fairy light-bedecked plantlife swamping the ceiling. Evening Standard restaurant critic Jimi Famurewa has already named it the “hottest place in town.”

I collaborated with another senior designer in a team of two people to bring together this project, focusing mainly on concept and detailing. The focus was on creating something that was authenti- cally Italian in feeling but would create a huge splash for the brand. Being about double the size of there first restaurant and much more central, it needed to offer a completely different experience. I was involved with the project from initial conceptual work through to post project snagging and wrap up meetings.
