Honouring the hawkers stalls of Bangkok’s Chinatown, Samsen On Lan Street has a semi-permenant fixture of people lining the pavement. It’s same same, but different.
The space is explicit in its intention: a high octane, food-forward uncomprimising street dining experience.
The design took the sucessfull elements of Samsen Wan Chai and Sheung Wan and expanded on them, whilst introducing new features such as a closed lattice ceiling, takeaway display unit inspired by Chinatown shop houses and a more considered bathroom experience.Honoring the hawker stalls of Bangkok’s Chinatown, Samsen On Lan Street features a semi-permanent setup with people lining the pavement. It’s the same, yet different.
The concept is clear: to provide a high-octane, food-forward street dining experience that is uncompromising.
The design builds on the successful elements of Samsen Wan Chai and Sheung Wan while introducing new features, such as a closed lattice ceiling, a takeaway display unit inspired by Chinatown shophouses, and a more thoughtfully designed bathroom experience.
